My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: Jonah, a prophet of God, was directed by God to go to the city of Nineveh, a large city in need of God but Jonah refused to go and was running away from God. He boarded a ship and God caused a large storm to get Jonah’s attention because, you see, disobedience is as the sin of witchcraft. When God gives us direction, we must not turn our back on God! The sailors came and questioned Jonah…
Jonah answered, “I am a Hebrew and I worship the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.” This terrified them and they asked, “What have you done?” (THEY KNEW HE WAS RUNNING AWAY FROM THE LORD, BECAUSE HE HAD ALREADY TOLD THEM SO.) The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him, “What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?” “Pick me up and throw me into the sea,” he replied, “and it will become calm. I know that IT IS MY FAULT THAT THIS GREAT STORM HAS COME UPON YOU.” (Jonah 1:9-12)
These experienced sailors were facing a fierce storm, like they had never seen. Their ship was in danger of being sunk, and they were doing everything they could to save lives. Jonah had told them he was running away from the Lord. All this terrible trouble CAUSED BY DISOBEDIENCE. “The Lord is patient… not wanting anyone to perish, but EVERYONE TO COME TO REPENTANCE.” (2 Peter 3:9) “However, if you DO NOT OBEY THE LORD your God and DO NOT CAREFULLY FOLLOW ALL HIS COMMANDS…all these curses will come on you and overtake you:” (Deut. 28:15)
TRUST AND OBEY, THERE’S NO BETTER WAY…
Notice: […We must understand that the bible says:] “The Lord is patient… not wanting anyone to perish, but EVERYONE TO COME TO REPENTANCE.”!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin…
