My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: “It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your FAITHFULNESS TO THE TRUTH, telling how you continue to walk in it… I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us…BELOVED, DO NOT 1IMITATE WHAT IS EVIL, BUT WHAT IS GOOD. HE WHO DOES GOOD IS OF GOD, but he who does evil has not seen God.” (3 John 1:3-5, 11) 1Mimeomai: to follow an example. John wrote his third letter to Gaius who was his child in the faith and who was now the pastor of a local church and very faithful to the truth. Also, John mentions Diotrephes, who does not acknowledge Johns authority. He was power-hungry and rejected the authority of the Apostles, refusing to submit to their leadership. He was so serious about it that even kicked some out of the church for opposing him.
John warns us not to imitate those who are evil but imitate those who are doing good.
IT BLESSES GOD WHEN WE ARE FAITHFUL TO THE TRUTH…
FaithLine, the bible says: “BELOVED, DO NOT 1IMITATE WHAT IS EVIL, BUT WHAT IS GOOD.”
