My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “To the angel of the church of Ephesus write…I know your works, your labor, your patience…Nevertheless I have this against you, that YOU HAVE LEFT YOUR FIRST LOVE [agapē]. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; REPENT AND DO THE FIRST WORKS…” (Rev. 2:4-5) agapē: the highest form of love, the love originating from God, an unconditional love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance. “He who does not love DOES NOT KNOW GOD, for GOD IS LOVE [agapē].” (1 John 4:8) How can we leave our first love? “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world [the lust of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life], the love [agapē] of the Father IS NOT IN HIM.” (1 John 2:15) So, you see, we cannot agapē God and the world, our unconditional love CANNOT BE FOR BOTH! It will be for ONE OR THE OTHER. How did this all start?
“I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent DECEIVED EVE by his craftiness…” (2 Corin. 11:3) He tricked Eve into leaving her first love, to eat the forbidden fruit, GOD COMMANDED THEM NOT TO EAT but Satan said, “…in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and YOU WILL BE LIKE GOD, knowing good and evil.” (Gen. 3:5) Adam and Eve fell in love with this idea and DISOBEYED GOD and were backslidden and taken out of the Garden created for them. Later on repentance took place,
THEN MEN BEGAN TO CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD…(Gen. 4:26)
