Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah refused to bow down to this huge idol, why? They had been taught: “You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an image…You shall not bow down to them or worship them.” (Deut. 5:7) Because they chose to obey and honor God, He miraculously saved them in such a way that the king changed the law of the land to honor the God of Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah and appointed them leaders in his kingdom… What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? “For WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD. As God has said: “I will live with them and WALK AMONG THEM, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore, “COME OUT FROM THEM AND BE SEPARATE, SAYS THE LORD. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corin. 6:16-18)
