My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: “…you ask, ‘Why does the son not share the guilt of his father?’ Since the son has done right and been careful to keep all my decrees, he will surely live. THE ONE WHO SINS IS THE ONE WHO WILL DIE. “But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and does what is right, that person will surely live…DO I TAKE ANY PLEASURE IN THE DEATH OF THE WICKED…I TAKE NO PLEASURE in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. REPENT AND LIVE!” (Ezek. 18:19-23, 32)
God’s people were complaining to Him that He was not fair in the way He treated people. So, the Lord explains that only the one who sins will pay the penalty of death. Then God pleads with them to repent and live! Then we are told, “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who DID NOT SPARE HIS OWN SON, but GAVE HIM UP FOR US ALL.” (Rom. 8:31-32)
OH THAT WE COULD JUST, SOMEHOW, UNDERSTAND HOW GREAT GOD’S LOVE IS FOR US…
