My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. FOR THE TIME WILL COME WHEN THEY WILL NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE, but according to their own desires, because THEY HAVE ITCHING EARS, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and THEY WILL TURN THEIR EARS AWAY FROM THE TRUTH, and be turned aside to fables.” (2 Tim. 4:2-4) ITCHING EARS is a term used in the Bible to describe individuals who seek out messages and doctrines “…according to their own desires.” Timothy is encouraging us to be wakeful, watchful, and earnest in our preaching and teaching. And the thought that more and more of the SO–CALLED CHRISTIANS WOULD DISLIKE THE PREACHING OF THE “SOUND DOCTRINE” as taught by the Apostle.
The Bible prophecies that some ministers in the last days will keep practicing their vocation, but they’ll begin to do it differently. They’ll attempt to possess the same God-given gifts, talents, anointing, and calling they always had — but because of people’s “itching ears” these men and women of God will turn away their hearts from the truth and will turn instead to fables, or myths. We must remember, “ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE COMPLETE, THOROUGHLY (through in and through out) EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK…(2 Tim. 3:16-17)
