My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: “THUS SAYS THE LORD: “Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool…all those things My hand has made, Says the LORD. “But ON THIS ONE WILL I 1LOOK: On him who is POOR and of a CONTRITE SPIRIT, And WHO TREMBLES AT MY WORD.” (Isa. 66:1-2) 1nabat: consider, pay attention to. Could it be stated with any more clarity? GOD IS SAYING,
“This is what I am considering, what I am paying attention to, when I look at you. One who,”
1. IS POOR. ‛ânı̂y: humble, needy. “Blessed are the POOR IN SPIRIT, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 5:3) We must NEVER FORGET that the Lord is God, we were created BY HIM, FOR HIM and without Him we ARE NOTHING!!! We will always worship and serve Him as the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY and remember, we, “…can do ALL THINGS through Christ who gives us strength.” (Phil. 4:13)
2. HAS A CONTRITE SPIRIT. dakka’: broken, crushed. The Lord God Almighty says, “I dwell in the HIGH AND HOLY PLACE, WITH HIM who has a CONTRITE AND HUMBLE spirit…” In other words with him who has a broken, crushed and humble spirit. Who knows where he stands with me, that I AM GOD AND HE IS NOT. A contrite heart offers no excuses and shifts no blame. A contrite heart throws itself upon the mercy of God, Like Isaiah said, “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips…For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.” (Isa. 6:5)
3. TREMBLES AT GOD’S WORD. chârêd: fearful, afraid. Jesus said, “If you love Me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.” (John 14:15) We DEMONSTRATE OR PROVE our love for Jesus by our obedience to Him. Paul said, “Don’t you realize that you become the slave of WHOEVER YOU CHOOSE TO OBEY? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can CHOOSE TO OBEY GOD, which leads to righteous” (Rom. 6:16) “So the Devil was cast out…who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him…the accuser of our brethren, who accused us before our God day and night, HAS BEEN CAST DOWN…
AND WE OVERCAME HIM BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND BY THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY…(Rev. 12:9-11)
