My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: This was David’s prayer after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba. “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion BLOT OUT MY TRANSGRESSIONS. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. AGAINST YOU, YOU ONLY, HAVE I SINNED and done what is evil in your sight…you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. CLEANSE ME with hyssop, and I will be clean; WASH ME, and I will be whiter than snow.” (Psa. 51:1-7)
I thank God that He is a God of great compassion and unfailing (dependable) love. If we do sin we must stop, ask God to wash away all of our iniquity and cleanse us from our sin. Don’t wait, why? Because it against God and God only that we have sinned and ONLY GOD CAN FORGIVE AND RESTORE US. Just how vast is God’s forgiveness? Jesus answered, when asked about forgiveness, “I tell you, not seven times, but SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN.” (Matt. 18:22). Jesus spoke this to illustrate the unlimited nature of God’s forgiveness!
GOD’S LOVE IS DEFINITELY UNFAILING…
