[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day…“And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:17-19)
[It was Jesus’ turn to read in the Synagogues and God arranged it so Jesus read this scripture that was about Himself…]
“And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, THIS DAY IS THIS SCRIPTURE FULFILLED IN YOUR EARS.” (Luke 4:20-21)
[Now they were all staring at Him in unbelief; how could he say this?]
“And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, WERE FILLED WITH WRATH, and rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, THAT THEY MIGHT CAST HIM DOWN HEADLONG.” (Luke 4:28-29)
[Notice: they were “filled with wrath” the devil hated this revelation of Jesus Christ our Lord, so he enticed the people to destroy Jesus!]
“But he passing through the midst of them went his way…” (Luke 4:30)
[This was the hometown of Jesus, he knew these people and worked with many of them, they did not believe in who He was! God temporally blinded them so, Jesus just walked away through middle of them!]
Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.” And he did not do many miracles there because of THEIR LACK OF FAITH.” (Matt. 13:55-58)
OH LORD, HELP US TO BELIEVE IN WHO YOU ARE!!!
