Paul expresses his AWESOME EXPERIENCE with the Lord, “I count everything AS LOSS compared to the PRICELESS PRIVILEGE (huperechō: to stand out, rise above, to be superior) AND SUPREME ADVANTAGE OF KNOWING CHRIST JESUS MY LORD. For His sake I have lost everything, and I consider it all garbage (the KJV says “I count them as dung (skubalon: manure or crap))”, so that I may GAIN CHRIST, and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST, THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH IS FROM GOD BY FAITH; THAT I MAY KNOW (ginōskō: to have intimate knowledge of) HIM and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death…” (Philippians 3:8-10)
The Apostle John says it like this, “DO NOT LOVE THE WORLD or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father IS NOT IN HIM. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—IS NOT OF THE FATHER but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF GOD ABIDES FOREVER.” (1 John 2:15-17)
“…do you not know that your body IS A TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN YOU, whom you have from God, and that YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN? For you have been BOUGHT FOR A PRICE: therefore, GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY and in YOUR SPIRIT, WHICH ARE GOD’S.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
