My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN; you were bought at a price. Therefore HONOR GOD WITH YOUR BODIES.” (1 Corin. 6:19-20)
The fact that we have been bought has aggressive implications. When God purchased us from the slave market of sin, His goal for us was not minor tweaking and minor service. He demands our absolute transformation and His absolute ownership. He bought us and He owns us. No conditions, no qualifications, no fine print. We are His. We could not be in better hands. Why? Because: “The LORD is our shepherd; We shall not be in want.”
Not only that but, “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple? GOD’S SPIRIT LIVES IN YOU. If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. GOD’S TEMPLE IS HOLY. AND YOU ARE THAT TEMPLE.” (1 Corin. 3:16-17)
The reason we honor God with our bodies is because we are not our own WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD! Everywhere we go and everything we do is a reflection of God’s presence… “…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you [your life] MAY PROVE what the will of God is, that which is GOOD and ACCEPTABLE and perfect.” (Rom. 12:2)
HONOR GOD WITH YOUR BODY…
