[Why is God so interested in us fearing Him? Because:]
“The FEAR OF THE LORD is THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM, and knowledge of the Holy One IS UNDERSTANDING.” (Pro. 9:10)
[Fear comes from a word that means “awesome” or “awesomeness”, to show reverence, so we need to reverence the Lord and be aware of his awesomeness! It also means to become “frightened”, should we be afraid of the Lord, NO; what we should fear is THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING DISOBEDIENT TO GOD!]
“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you…if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding…and search for it AS FOR HIDDEN TREASURE, then you will UNDERSTAND THE FEAR OF THE LORD and FIND THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.” (Pro. 2:1-5)

We must grasp all occasions of hearing the word of God, and listen with attention and seriousness, as if we were afraid of letting it out of our grasp!]
