My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “I will EXALT You, my God, O King, And with gratitude and submissive wonder I will bless Your name FOREVER AND EVER.” (Psa. 145:1) To exalt God is to raise God to the HIGHEST PLACE in our lives. To give Him FIRST PLACE in every thought in our mind, every word spoken, and every deed done. This cannot be done apart from His Son, Jesus Christ. “…being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has HIGHLY EXALTED HIM and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee SHOULD BOW, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue SHOULD CONFESS that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil. 2:8-11)
Why Should We Exalt God? BECAUSE OF:
- Revelation: The Word reveals to us that we can only be saved by the grace of God through faith. In order to have faith, we must HEAR the Word of God. “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Rom. 10:17)
- Communication: Every effective relationship must have communication. God has given sinful man access to Him IN CHRIST. “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast OUR CONFESSION. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore COME BOLDLY to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb. 4:14-16)
- Fellowship: Another part of how we are to exalt God in our lives is through gathering with His church. The author of Hebrews says, “…let us consider one another in order to stir up LOVE and GOOD WORKS, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Heb. 10:24-25)
- Proclamation: God has chosen the proclamation of the gospel as the means for the salvation of men. “…we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts TO GIVE THE LIGHT of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corin. 4:5-6)
Notice: […We must understand that the bible says:] “…let us consider one another in order to stir up LOVE and GOOD WORKS.” !!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin…
