My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “The earnest fervent prayer of a righteous person has GREAT POWER and produces wonderful results.” (Jam. 5:16)
The theologian Charles Spurgeon once said, “true prayer is neither a mere mental exercise, nor a vocal performance. It’s far deeper than that. It is a SPIRITUAL TRANSACTION with the creator of heaven and earth.” What a humbling thought that is for us, although it may be difficult to comprehend. When we bow our head and pray, we’re actually COMMUNICATING with almighty God and what is even more amazing is God is LISTENING to our prayers and will ANSWER our prayers. “…you will weep no more. How gracious He will be when you CRY FOR HELP and as soon as He HEARS He will ANSWER you.” (Isa. 30:19)
Our lives are full of trials of stress, heartache, issues that really sap our strength, that often leave us spiritually limp like a dishrag. It’s like, we’re struggling. We’re having a hard time. We don’t even know what to do. We may cry out, God, are you there? Listen to David in. He said this, “In my distress, I called upon the Lord. To my God I CRIED FOR HELP and from His temple,” I love this, “HE HEARD my voice and my cry to Him reached His ears.” (Psa. 18:6) And there is this wonderful promise, “The Lord is NEAR to all who call on Him in truth.” (Psa. 145:18)
Jeremiah prophecies this, “…then you will CALL upon me and come and pray to me and I will LISTEN to you.” (Jer. 29:12) Think about the wonderful assurance Jesus gives to us, “Until now, you have not asked for anything in my name. ASK and you will RECEIVE and your joy will be complete.” (John 16:24) Dr. Jerry Falwell founded Liberty University, said this, “little prayer, little power, more prayer, more power, much prayer, much power.”
This is a word I received from the Lord one morning in my prayer time,
“Bill, I want you to hear and understand what I am saying to you, so you can teach others. Your prayers are necessary for me to bless those you love, the more prayers you pray THE MORE BLESSINGS WILL COME. As I told you Bill, your prayers are incense going into my vial of blessings that will be poured out. I mix my grace and power with this incense and pour it out on the ones you are covering with prayer. A little incense will produce little blessings; more and more incense will produce MUCH GREATER BLESSINGS. Bill, Continue to give me the incense I need from you to bless your prayer family! BE FAITHFUL CONTINUE!”
LET MY PRAYER BE SET FORTH BEFORE YOU AS INCENSE…(Psalms 141:2)
