My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “Moses chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of ENJOYING THE FLEETING 1PLEASURES OF SIN.” (Heb. 11:25) 1échō: to hold one’s self to something. Sin is fun, sin is enjoyable, sin can be exciting, but the fun, pleasure, and excitement will only last for a SHORT TIME. The fact that the Bible tells us that sin is pleasurable is an indication that GOD UNDERSTANDS THE HUMAN CONDITION. He knows sin comes with physical enjoyment and emotional stimulation. In the beginning “God created man in HIS OWN IMAGE; in the IMAGE OF GOD He created him, male and female He created them.” (Gen. 1:27) Being created in the image of God is mankind’s unique ability for possessing moral and rational awareness. God built into us some of His own qualities; we share with Him the experience of personality, truth, beauty, meaning, will, reason and intelligence. Man worked with God in the wonderful eternal paradise created JUST FOR MAN.
God knew that man needed something more so, “…the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man HE MADE INTO A WOMAN, and He brought her to the man…Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become ONE FLESH.” (Gen. 2:21-22, 24) God created man and woman to enjoy WONDERFUL INTIMACY in their relationship emotionally, and physically. God did give them one condition concerning their obedience to Him. “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you SHALL NOT EAT, for in the day that you eat of it YOU SHALL SURELY DIE.” (Gen. 2:16-17) Why did God do this? Well, to be quite honest, it really DOES NOT MATTER! He is our creator and maker and we LOVE Him and OBEY Him!!!
We all know what happened next, in all their magnificent and wonderful paradise, the devil comes along and says, TRY IT, “You will not surely die… So when the woman saw that the tree was GOOD for food, that it was PLEASANT to the eyes, and a tree DESIRABLE to make one wise, she took of its fruit AND ATE. She also gave to her husband with her, and HE ATE.” (Gen. 3:6) Man in one stupid decision, threw away all that God had done for him and not just him but us as well! So, to answer the question “Can we be deceived?” the answer is yes! But God has given us His “…ALIVE and POWERFUL. Sharper than any double-edged sword…” (Heb. 4:12)
WORD OF GOD! TO HIDE IN OUR HEARTS!!!
