06-04-18 FaithLine Devotion HOW DO WE LOVE JESUS…

My dear brothers and sisters, of FATHLINE: Simon Peter said to them, I AM 1GOING FISHING.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night THEY CAUGHT NOTHING. (John 21:3) 1hupagó: I go away, a final departure.

Jesus was gone so, they felt their ministry was gone as well. This was a declaration that they were leaving the ministry and going back to fishing. Not a great start…

“…Jesus stood on the beach; and said to them, “Children, you do not have any fish, do you?” They answered Him, “No.” (John 21:4-5)

They were not really sure who this was“Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch.” (John 21:6) Almost instantly the net was full of great big fish, 153 in number.

Jesus then called Peter to Him near the big pile of fish and said: “…do you agapaō Me more than these?” Peter said: “Yes, Lord; You know that I philēō You.Jesus was speaking about a love of devotion, Peter was responding with a love of friendship. Jesus asked again with the same results. The third time Jesus said: “Do you even philēō me Peter?” This made Peter very unhappy. He then said: “Lord, you know all things; You know that I philēō You.” (John 21:15-17)

Here is the thing, when we just get healed or greatly blessed, we dance around and praise the Lord with real thankful hearts but when we are facing a trial of our faith we often become sad faced and often a little depressed. That is what philēō love is, loving the blessings, not the trials. What the Lord wants from us is a pure devoted love for Him. Agapaō through it all love! HOW DO WE LOVE JESUS…

LOVE JESUS WITH FIRST COMMANDMENT LOVE, ALL OUR HEART, SOUL, MIND AND STRENGTH
