My dear brothers and sisters, dedicating your lives to singing for Jesus: David said, “Have mercy on me, LORD; heal me, for I HAVE SINNED AGAINST YOU.” (Psa. 41:4)
Sin is an assault on God’s authority and his right to tell us what to do. David goes on to say…
“I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. AGAINST YOU, YOU ONLY, HAVE I SINNED and done what is evil in your sight…” (Psa. 51:2-4) Confessing our sin and asking for forgiveness is only half of the equation. The other half is repentance: “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion BLOT OUT MY TRANSGRESSIONS. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.” (Psa. 51:1-2)
Paul said this about David: “God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART; he will do everything I want him to do.’” (Acts 13:22) David pleased God by confessing his sin and repenting of his sin!
TO BE A PERSON AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART, CONFESS AND REPENT…
FaithLine, the bible says: “BLOT OUT MY TRANSGRESSIONS. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.”
