Jesus had just given a lesson to His followers about the bread of life (who was Jesus), that they must partake of this bread if they wanted eternal life. He was giving them a lesson about the intimacy of God! Note that many turned away and stopped following Jesus.
So, Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? YOU HAVE THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:65-70)
The twelve apostles recognized that Jesus had the words of eternal life and there was nowhere else they could go to get this wonderful gift of God…
Jesus said, “My teaching is not my own. IT COMES FROM THE ONE WHO SENT ME. Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.” (John 7:16-17)
JESUS SPEAKS THE WORD OF OUR ALMIGHTY GOD…
