My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: Samuel’s mother Hannah, who while she was childless, promised if the Lord allowed her to have a son she would dedicate him to serve the Lord in His house where Eli served as the temple priest. The Lord allowed Hannah to have a son and as soon as Samuel we weaned from him mother she took him to be raised by Eli. Hannah prayed, “Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the LORD is the God of knowledge; And BY HIM ACTIONS ARE WEIGHED…the child (Samuel) MINISTERED TO THE LORD before Eli the priest.” (1 Sam. 2:3, 11) How was Samuel able to minister to the Lord at such a young age?
Hannah OBEYED the commandment of the Lord, “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY TO YOUR CHILDREN, and shall TALK of them when you sit in your house, WHEN YOU WALK by the way, when you LIE DOWN, and when YOU RISE UP. You shall BIND THEM as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall WRITE THEM on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deut. 6:6-9) All the time that Hannah had Samuel to raise him she TAUGHT HIM in the way of the Lord!!! “Now the LORD came and STOOD AND CALLED as at other times, “SAMUEL! SAMUEL!” And Samuel answered, “SPEAK, FOR YOUR SERVANT HEARS…So Samuel grew, and the LORD WAS WITH HIM and LET NONE OF HIS WORDS FALL TO THE GROUND.” (1 Sam. 3:10, 19)
After I had been saved a short while and had just came out of a real struggle. I was getting ready for bed I heard a voice, “Bill” I said “what” and I walked around the room to see who was calling to me and the voice said “I am pleased with you, continue to be obedient to me!” I got down on my face weeping and praying…
