My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: Jesus said, “Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. LOOSE IT AND BRING IT HERE. And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you losing it?‘ thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’ ” So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. But as they were losing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you losing the colt?” And they said, “THE LORD HAS NEED OF HIM.” (Luke 19:30-34) Isn’t it amazing how Christ chose the baby donkey, the colt? One that had never been ridden. Wouldn’t that mean it was surely an unbroken animal? What would happen if we hopped up on an unbroken colt? Also, in comparison to the other donkey, it was the younger of the two, a mere colt…the short legged…the smaller in stature. Don’t you imagine if we were leading, we would have chosen a stallion? Isn’t it just like the Lord? Always CHOOSING THE LEAST LIKELY. “For the message of the cross IS FOOLISHNESS to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the THE POWER OF GOD.” (1 Corin. 1:18)
If you step back and look at the big picture of the Bible, it becomes obvious that God uses people in the strangest ways to carry out his will. Maybe I should say HE USES STRANGE PEOPLE TO DO SO. After all, just like now, it’s the people, the men and women of the Bible, who are given spiritual fortitude to exercise heavenly strength here on earth. Moses was a murderer; Paul had many Jesus lovers killed; Rahab was a whore; and Jacob was full of shortcomings, just to name a few. “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made FOOLISH THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom DID NOT KNOW GOD, it pleased God through THE FOOLISHNESS OF PREACHING to save those who believe.” (1 Corin. 1:20-21)
