“For God has not given us a SPIRIT OF FEAR, but of POWER and of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND.” (2 Tim. 1:7) Fear is a spirit that DOES NOT COME FROM GOD!!! “There is NO FEAR in love [“God is love.” (1 John 4:8)]; PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR , because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18) David says this about fear, “I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And DELIVERED ME FROM ALL MY FEARS.” (Psa. 34:4)
The first mention of fear in the bible, is when God said to Abraham, as he was about to sacrifice his son, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that YOU FEAR GOD, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” (Genesis 22:12) This is the healthy, righteous fear, we must have to please God. “The fear of the LORD is the BEGINNING OF WISDOM; A good understanding have all those who DO HIS COMMANDMENTS…” (Psa. 111:10)
In Spite of the virus and the terrible storms, “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the pestilence (disease) that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday…Because you have made the LORD, your dwelling place, NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL (occur to) YOU, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling…” (Psalms 91:5-6, 9-10)
