My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “You MUST LOVE the Lord your God and OBEY EVERY ONE of His commands.” (Deut. 11:1) LOVE AND OBEY, that’s clear… “God’s Word shall be with you, and you shall READ IT ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE, that you may learn to FEAR THE LORD your God and be careful to 1OBSERVE ALL THE WORD OF GOD…” (Deut. 17:19) 1shâmar: to KEEP AND DO, preserve, protect. A recent poll for Newsweek magazine found that despite average sales of more than $1 billion annually, less than 20% OF AMERICANS read their Bible daily — making the Bible the MOST owned, LEAST read book in history.
We are instructed, in the Word of God to:
- READ IT ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIFE…
- LEARN TO FEAR THE LORD…
- CAREFULLY OBSERVE ALL THE “WORD OF GOD”…
It’s a sad commentary but people know more about the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) which has killed 3,392 people in America, than they do about the Bible, God’s TRUE AND ACCURATE WORDS OF HOPE for us!!! Which tells us, Jesus was, “…wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities (sins); The chastisement (punishment) for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes WE ARE HEALED.” (Isaiah 53:5) The bible is not a book written over a few thousand years and now they are just “words.” These “WORDS” are “…LIVING AND POWERFUL, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner (discoverer) of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12) The Lord tells us, “I, the LORD, SEARCH THE HEART, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.” (Jer. 17:10) Paul told Timothy, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing THE WORD OF TRUTH.” (2 Tim. 2:15) Of necessity, “rightly dividing” or CORRECTLY HANDLING the Bible, the WORD OF TRUTH will involve much study, contemplation, and prayer. It will involve bringing an open mind, heart, and a faithful life to the word of truth. Remember the palmists word’s,
