My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day…“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; WHO CAN UNDERSTAND IT? “I the LORD SEARCH THE HEART AND TEST THE MIND…” (Jeremiah 17:9-10)
There are so many things in our culture today that tempt us to sin. We can’t escape it. Everywhere we go, there is something—from billboards to television commercials to Web site pop-up ads, to pop-ups on our cell phones—that feeds the fire of lust. So, here is what it comes down to: we need to do everything we can to stay out of the way of temptation. Techknowledge is a tool the devil uses to present to us the opportunity for us to see ANYTHING! Now I’m not saying that techknowledge is THE TOOL of the devil because I daily make use of it in sending devotions ALL OVER THE WORLD. I have been tempted often by women asking to join my group and then wanting me to be a part of some unholy act but the Lord has protected me!
“Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has CLEAN HANDS and A PURE HEART…” (Psalms 24:3-4)
Here is why maintaining a pure heart is so important for believers. If the only thing that is stopping someone from committing a certain sin is the fear of getting caught, then if circumstances change in such a way that they feel they can pull it off, that one may indeed go and commit the sin. Remember David:
“One evening David got up from his bed. He walked around on the roof of his palace. From the roof, he SAW A WOMAN TAKING A BATH. She was very beautiful.” (2 Samuel 11:2)
David, a man who had favor with God, should have turned and walked away but instead he sent for her and committed adultery with her! He then sent her husband into battle so he would be killed. After all this David said:
“Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” And you FORGAVE THE GUILT OF MY SIN.” (Psa. 32:5)
David received God’s forgiveness and declared:
“Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!” (Psa. 66:20)
Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh, this is a prayer we should commit to our memory is this:
“Create in me a PURE HEART, O God, and renew a RIGHT SPIRIT within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the JOY OF YOUR SALVATION and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” (Psa. 51:10-12)
When Jesus delivered the sermon on the mount, He said:
“Blessed are the PURE IN HEART, for they shall see God.” (Matt. 5:8)
♫Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.
Notice: […We must understand that the bible says: “Blessed are the PURE IN HEART, for they shall see God”!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh
