My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: Jesus traveled to Bethsaida, where he healed a blind man. Afterward, according to the Gospel of Mark, as He walked north toward Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked His disciples, “…who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “YOU ARE THE CHRIST.” (Mark 8:29) Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood HAS NOT REVEALED THIS TO YOU, but MY FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN. And I also say to you that YOU ARE 1PETER, and on this 2ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matt. 16:17-20) 1petros: a small insecure pebble. 2petra: a solid, immovable rock. Jesus intended to build His church on a SOLID IMMOVABLE ROCK, not on a small insecure pebble.
Jesus just declared that He knew Peter and Peter declared his knowledge of who Christ was, this mutual knowing of one another. Jesus said the way you know me Peter is by DIVINE REVELATION. So, Christ’s church is built on this divine revelation, the solid immovable rock.
“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens…having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF BEING THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for A DWELLING PLACE OF GOD IN THE SPIRIT.” (Eph. 2:19-22)
Notice: […We must understand that the bible says:] Jesus asked His disciples, “…who do you say that I am?” !!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin…
