My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. By day the LORD went ahead of them in A PILLAR OF CLOUD to guide them on their way and by night in A PILLAR OF FIRE to give them light…” (Exodus 13:18, 21) This pillar of cloud and fire represented the presence of the Lord to God’s people, He was there to COMFORT THEM AND ASSURE THEM that all would be well. That’s why Jesus told His disciples “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and HE SHALL GIVE YOU ANOTHER COMFORTER, so that HE MAY BE WITH YOU FOREVER, the Spirit of Truth…you know Him, for He dwells with you and SHALL BE IN YOU.” (John 14:15-18) The word “comforter” means literally, “called to one’s side” for help. The translation “Comforter” covers only a small part of the meaning. The word “Helper” would be a more adequate translation. The Spirit does a great deal for us besides comforting us. The Spirit guides us into truth; indeed, He is called the Spirit of truth. He teaches and quickens the our memory and glorifies Christ in us. He also has a work to do in the hearts of unbelievers, convicting the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He truly becomes our “Pillar” to assure us of our salvation.
REVEAL THE IMPORTANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT TO US…
