01-31-19 FaithLine Devotion LIKE A LITTLE CHILD…

My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: Then people brought little children to Jesus for him TO PLACE HIS HANDS ON THEM AND PRAY FOR THEM. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said,LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME, AND DO NOT HINDER THEM, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN BELONGS TO SUCH AS THESE. (Matt. 19:13-15) Truly I tell you, ANYONE WHO WILL NOT RECEIVE THE KINGDOM OF GOD LIKE A LITTLE CHILD WILL NEVER ENTER IT.” (Mark 10:15) “…the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, UNLESS YOU CHANGE and BECOME LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN, YOU WILL NEVER ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.(Matt. 18:1-3)

Jesus makes some very interesting statements about little children, the kingdom of heaven belongs to little children, we must receive the kingdom like a child, WE MUST CHANGE and become like little children. What does this mean? I think Jesus is talking about humility. Jesus is urging us to seek the humility of a child—to have a faith empty of ambition, pride, and arrogance. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “GOD 1OPPOSES THE PROUD BUT HE GIVES 2GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.(1 Peter 5:5-6) 1antitassomai: to resist, bring anti-order, cause confusion. 2grace: the desire and power to do God’s will.

DEAR LORD, GIVE US THE DESIRE AND EMPOWER US TO DO YOUR WILL

FaithLine, the bible says:  GOD OPPOSES THE PROUD BUT HE GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”
