“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO 1DEVOUR. Stand firm AGAINST HIM, and be strong in YOUR FAITH. Remember that your family of believers ALL OVER THE WORLD is going through the same kind of suffering you are.” (1 Peter 5:8-9) 1katapinō: absorb, to engulf, overwhelm. “…FAITH COMES BY HEARING, and hearing by THE WORD OF GOD.” (Romans 10:17) Faith in God means believing in and trusting in the GREATEST HOPE—that God became man, lived a perfect life, died a sacrificial death for our sins, and rose again to glory so that we could have ETERNAL LIFE by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
In 2008, as I was praying early one morning, the Lord spoke to me about writing and posting inspirational devotions, every day! I said yes, IF YOU WILL HELP ME Lord because I can’t do this on my own. So I kind of struggled along as best I could, when in March 2011, I suffered a very severe stroke. For the next four months I was placed in the Siskin Rehab Hospital, having no idea who I was. My awesome wife was there each day concerned that she may have lost her husband. Then, one morning in June, I woke up realizing I had not been writing devotions. The Lord spoke with me about how the devil tried to prevent me from my ministry and that He would inspire me in a GREATER WAY because THE WORD IS SO IMPORTANT. So, with a new vigor, I began, with rekindled dedication and have continued now for the past 8 years each day. I do this because EVERY DAY the devil talks to you so I’ll make sure GOD TALKS TO YOU as well. One very awesome thing I have noticed is, the more I struggle with my health the more clearly I CAN HEAR THE VOICE OF THE LORD. “My sheep HEAR MY VOICE, and I know them, and they FOLLOW ME.” (John 10:27)
