If we do not trust in God, we might say, “…though I STAY IN the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear EVERYTHING; For You are FAR OFF; Your rod and Your staff, WHERE ARE THEY?” (Psa. 23:4) “I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to LEAD YOU ASTRAY.” (1 John 2:26)
If we see things this way we have been led astray and we need to, “Watch out that no one deceives you.” (Mark 13:5)
