My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: God was about to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for all the evil that was taking place there. The Lord sent two angles to warn Lot and his family so, Lot went to warn his children: “Then Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law. They had promised to get married to his daughters. He said, “Hurry up! Get out of this place! THE LORD IS ABOUT TO DESTROY THE CITY!” But HIS SONS-IN-LAW THOUGHT HE WAS JOKING… And it happened when the angels brought Lot outside, He said, Escape for your life! DO NOT LOOK BEHIND YOU…” (Gen. 19:14, 17) All that Lot could save was his wife and two daughters. Why did his family not listen? Was something wrong with Lot? “God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, He made them an example of WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO UNGODLY PEOPLE. But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because HE WAS A RIGHTEOUS MAN who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him.” (2 Peter 2:6-7)
The angels said, “DO NOT LOOK BEHIND”, Lots wife turned and looked behind her “…and she turned into a pillar of salt.” (Gen. 19:26) To mock God is to disrespect, dishonor, or ignore Him. It is a serious offense committed by those who have no fear of God or who deny His existence. The most easily recognized form of mockery is disrespect characterized by verbal insults or other acts of contempt. The most dangerous mockery, comes from those sitting in church. Who are guilty of mockery when they behave with an outward show of spirituality or godliness without an INWARD CHANGE OF HEART.
WE ARE COMMANDED TO LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL OUR HEART, SOUL MIND AND STRENGTH…
