My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day:
“…WHEN YOU FAST, anoint your head and wash your face…that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret WILL REWARD YOU.” (Matt. 6:17, 18)
This statement by Jesus indicates that HE EXPECTS US TO FAST, so what is the purpose of fasting?
The LORD SAYS: “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to lose the bonds of wickedness…is it not to share your bread with the hungry…” (Isa. 58:6-7)
Fasting causes us to draw closer to God and be more like Christ!
“Then your light will break forth like the dawn…your healing will quickly appear…your righteousness will go before you…the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard…you will call, and THE LORD WILL ANSWER; you will cry for help, and he will say: HERE AM I. “If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk…” (Isa. 58:8-9)
So, when we fast we can expect to: “…FIND YOUR JOY IN THE LORD, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land…For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 58:14)
WE WILL SEE REMARKABLE RESULTS AND BE GREATLY BLESSED THRU FASTING…
